Welcome to the University of Waikato College. Our mission is to support our students toward the undergraduate or postgraduate degree of their choice at the University of Waikato, and to achieve their academic and life goals. The College provides supportive environment and staff who understand what it takes to develop diverse cohorts of students into successful university graduates.
The College offers a wide range of courses and programmes aimed at both international and domestic students, including foundation pathway Certificates and academic and general English language programmes. We are delighted to be launching new International Diploma programmes in Business and Computer Science (first year bachelor level), and our new Pre-Masters Programme, the Diploma in Postgraduate Preparation (DipPP). We also host international study groups from a wide variety of countries and operate one of New Zealand's largest IELTS testing centres.
Pathway programmes for international students
University of Waikato College offers a variety of courses that will help you progress to the University degree of your choice, including Foundation programmes, International Diplomas and Academic English Language programmes.
Certificate of University Preparation
This programme is for students with a New Zealand secondary school qualification who have not met the entry criteria for degree study or need additional academic preparation prior to undergraduate study.
English Language Programmes
In addition to our academic English programme students who wish to improve their everyday English can study the General English programme, or join our International Group programme.
IELTS Testing in Hamilton and Tauranga
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. The award-winning IELTS test centre at the University of Waikato organises a number of test dates on both Hamilton and Tauranga campuses throughout the year.
